About this site
Coral Garden is a reef dive site where the route takes you around two larger rocks accompanied by a series of smaller rocks sitting on sand, reaching a maximum depth of 19 metres. The terrain is decorated with soft corals in yellow, orange and purple, whip corals, gorgonians, and anemones. At the Tulamben version of the site the reef is shallow, ranging between 3 and 12 metres, with soft corals, anemones, and colourful reef fish.
The marine life at Coral Garden includes nudibranchs, shrimps, schools of yellow tail barracudas, batfish, flatfish, angelfish, butterflyfish, and ribbon eels. Reef sharks and eagle rays have also been recorded at the site, and giant frogfish are present.
Coral Garden is well suited to beginner divers and is also appropriate for introductory dives, with light current and good visibility. Water temperature stays between 26 and 30 °C, and the site can be dived year-round in calm, sheltered conditions.
