Cueva Del Sabalo

This submerged cave system in Cuba's Isla de la Juventud offers thrilling exploration through winding tunnels and caverns. Stalactites and stalagmites create dramatic formations, while shafts of sunlight pierce through openings. Schools of tarpon patrol the entrance, giving the site its name. Visibility often exceeds 30 meters in these crystal-clear Caribbean waters. The cave's shallow sections (5-8m) make it accessible, while deeper passages challenge experienced divers. Watch for lobsters hiding in crevices and occasional reef sharks passing by. Strong currents outside the cave attract pelagic life.
