About this site
Current Alley lies off the island of Pura in the Lesser Sunda chain of Indonesia, within the strait waters between Alor and its neighboring islands. This part of the archipelago sits in a channel known for strong tidal flow between the Savu Sea and the Banda Sea, which gives the site its name. It reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated an advanced dive, reflecting the current conditions running through the channel. Divers have also reported hammerhead sharks passing through the site.
