About this site
Davis Reef sits in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary off Islamorada, part of the reef tract running along the Atlantic side of the Keys. It is a patch reef commonly used by local dive operators out of Islamorada, with coral heads and sand channels typical of the middle Keys. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 21.3 metres and is rated an intermediate dive over reef bottom. Nurse sharks are commonly encountered here, often resting among the coral heads or along the sand channels.
