About this site
De Zeehond lies in the Grevelingenmeer near Scharendijke, a saltwater lake in Zeeland created after the Grevelingen dam closed off this former estuary from the North Sea. The wreck sits in a maximum depth of around 10 metres and is considered a beginner-friendly dive, making it accessible to divers early in their training. The lake's still, current-free water is a large part of why sites like this one near Scharendijke are popular for shore diving in the region.
