About this site
Deemata (でぇ〜また) is a boat-dive reef off Okinoerabu Island in Kagoshima Prefecture, about 10 minutes from harbour, with a maximum depth of 30 m and an average around 10 m. In early spring dogtooth tuna gather in very large spawning aggregations, and spotted eagle rays, sea turtles and blue-spotted damselfish are seen. Current varies greatly with the tide; suitable from beginner level.
