About this site
Bangka Island lies off the northern tip of Sulawesi, near Manado, in a stretch of Indonesian coastline known for its volcanic shoreline and reefs. Demak is a dive site there reached by boat from small resorts on Bangka or from the Manado area, with a maximum depth of around 14 metres, light current, and a rating of intermediate. Nudibranchs are common on the site, and divers have also reported frogfish, ghost pipefish, harlequin shrimp, leaf scorpionfish, lionfish, mantis shrimp, mimic octopus, parrotfish, seahorses, and squid.
