About this site
Dheeva Giri lies within Gaafu Alif Atoll, part of the southern Maldives archipelago south of the equator. Sites here are typically reached by dhoni from local island or liveaboard bases operating in this less frequently visited stretch of atolls. The reef reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated an advanced dive. Divers have reported barracuda, thresher sharks, trevally, and triggerfish around the site, and titan triggerfish have also been noted as potentially aggressive during certain periods.
