About this site
Doc Ricketts Underwater Park sits along the Monterey Peninsula in central California, part of the protected waters of Monterey Bay. The area takes its name from the marine biologist Ed Ricketts, whose work in the bay was chronicled by John Steinbeck, and it lies near the kelp forests and rocky shoreline typical of this stretch of coast between Monterey and Pacific Grove.
