Doctor's Rock lies along the County Clare coastline in the province of Munster, on Ireland's southwestern seaboard facing the Atlantic. This stretch of coast is characterised by limestone and rocky shore formations typical of Clare, with access generally arranged through local dive operators in the area. Divers here have reported Atlantic black sea cucumbers, common sea stars, dead man's fingers, European edible sea urchins, jewel anemones, knotted thread hydroids, and spiny starfish among the marine life on the rock.
