Double Wreck

Double Wreck lies off the coast of Sint Eustatius (Statia) in the Dutch Caribbean, one of the better known sites in the island's marine park. It takes its name from two vessels, believed to be old sailing ships, that came to rest close together on the sandy bottom and have since become encrusted with coral and sponge growth. The site is generally shallow, commonly dived in the range of about 10 to 18 metres, which makes it accessible to less experienced divers as well as those looking for an easy, relaxed dive. Divers typically encounter reef fish, turtles, and occasional rays moving through and around the wreck structures. Because much of Statia's diving is boat access with generally mild conditions, Double Wreck is often used as an easier, multi-level dive within the same outing as deeper sites nearby.
