About this site

Rawa Island sits off the east coast of Johor, Malaysia, in the South China Sea, part of a small group of islands popular for weekend boat trips from Mersing. Dragon Rock is a reef dive site off the island reaching a maximum depth of around 25 metres, rated intermediate with strong current and generally good visibility over a reef bottom. A submerged pinnacle not visible from the surface, strong currents, and a thermocline have been reported as hazards here. Napoleon wrasse and nudibranchs are a regular sight on the reef, and divers have also reported barracuda, eagle rays, frogfish, grouper, guitarfish, leaf scorpionfish, leopard sharks, manta rays, snapper, tuna, unicornfish, and other wrasse species around the site.
