About this site
El Acuario lies in the waters off San Andrés, the Colombian island in the western Caribbean that gives the archipelago of San Andrés and Providencia its name. The site sits near the shallow reef flats and cayos on the island's protected side, an area typically reached by short boat trips from town. It is a beginner dive with a maximum depth of around 3 metres, making it well suited to divers just getting comfortable in the water. Divers have also reported tiger sharks passing through the area.
