About this site
El Islote sits off the tip of the Baja California peninsula near Cabo San Lucas, in the waters where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean. Boats out of Cabo San Lucas marina reach this rocky islet on short runs along the coastline. It is a reef dive to a maximum depth of around 19.8 metres, rated beginner, though access can depend on conditions since the site sits exposed and can see unpredictable currents. Divers have reported damselfish, eagle rays, garden eels, grouper, lobster, nudibranchs, parrotfish, reef sharks, sea turtles, and snapper around the rocks here.
