About this site
Marios Reef sits off the coast of Baja California Sur near the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, in the waters where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific. This area near Cabo San Lucas is typically accessed by boat from the local marina. The reef reaches a maximum depth of about 19.8 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported angelfish, barracuda, bigeye trevally, blue-barred parrotfish, Cortez rainbow wrasse, graybar grunt, guineafowl puffer, nurse sharks, razor surgeonfish, and snapper around the reef.
