El Meco lies off Mexico's Caribbean coast near Cancun, in the waters off the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula. It has a maximum depth of about 9.1 metres, making it a shallow site, and it is considered a beginner-level dive over a reef. Divers have reported angelfish and damselfish around the reef here.
