About this site
The Museo Subacuático de Arte (MUSA) lies off the coast of Quintana Roo near Cancun and Isla Mujeres, in the waters of the Mexican Caribbean. It consists of hundreds of submerged sculptures placed on the seabed, designed to draw diving and snorkeling activity away from the area's natural reefs. Diving here reaches a maximum depth of about 9 metres and is considered a beginner dive. The sculptures have been in place long enough for coral and algae growth to colonize their surfaces over time, and divers have also reported barracuda and octopus moving among the installations.
