About this site
The Equator Islands site sits near Waigeo and Kawe Island in the Raja Ampat archipelago of West Papua, close to where the coordinates cross the equator itself. This part of Raja Ampat is reached by liveaboard or small boat out of the region's dive bases, threading between the small limestone islands scattered off Waigeo's coast. The site is dived as a wreck, reaching a maximum depth of around 40 metres, and is rated an advanced dive with generally great visibility. Divers have also reported Napoleon wrasse patrolling the site.
