About this site
The Ex-HMAS Hobart is a decommissioned Royal Australian Navy guided missile destroyer that was scuttled off Yankalilla Bay in South Australia as a purpose-built dive wreck. She served the RAN for several decades before being stripped, cleaned, and sunk to create an artificial reef. The wreck sits upright on the seabed and has become a popular deliberate wreck dive for the region, with the superstructure and decks offering swim-throughs and penetration for suitably trained divers. Depths on the site run from the upper decks down to the seabed, making it accessible to a range of experience levels near the top while the deeper penetration routes are better suited to advanced or wreck-certified divers.
