About this site
The Ex-HMAS Tobruk is a former Royal Australian Navy heavy landing ship deliberately scuttled off the Queensland coast near Hervey Bay and Tin Can Bay as an artificial reef and dive wreck. She served in the RAN for decades, including logistics and humanitarian support roles, before being decommissioned and sunk in the 2010s. The hull sits upright on the seabed and has become a structured wreck dive popular with divers wanting to explore its decks and superstructure. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated an advanced dive. Given the size and layout of the ship, penetration or deeper sections are generally best suited to divers with wreck diving experience.
