About this site
Paxi is a small island in the Ionian Sea south of Corfu, known for a coastline of limestone cliffs, caves, and inlets rather than sandy beaches. Exolitharo lies along this rocky shoreline, where the terrain drops steeply into the sea and is typically explored by boat out of the island's small harbor towns like Gaios or Lakka. Divers here have reported black longspine urchin, European parrotfish, Mediterranean damselfish, ornate wrasse, Saint Piran's hermit crab, and wide-eyed flounder among the life along the rocks.
