Fateixa lies along the coastline of São Vicente, one of the northern islands of Cabo Verde in the eastern Atlantic. The waters here sit off the volcanic terrain typical of the archipelago, with the island's main town of Mindelo serving as the usual base for boats heading out to sites along this coast. The reef reaches a maximum depth of around 20 metres and is rated an intermediate dive.
