About this site
Fort Pond Bay sits on the north side of Montauk, at the eastern end of Long Island, New York, opening onto Block Island Sound. It has historically served as a sheltered anchorage near the village of Montauk, with the shoreline backed by low bluffs and the Long Island Rail Road terminus once running down to its edge. As a dive site it is rated a beginner level spot, with the bay's sheltered position offering calmer conditions than the more exposed waters around Montauk Point.
