About this site
Gaafaru is a small atoll and island on the northern edge of Kaafu Atoll, north of North Male Atoll in the Maldives, with the surrounding reef reached by boat from the more heavily dived areas further south. The dive site sits along the outer edge where the atoll drops toward open channel water, with a cave feature among its terrain, and reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres. It is considered a beginner dive. Divers have reported eagle rays, manta rays, nudibranchs, octopus, and even whale sharks passing through the area.
