Gamat Bay

Gamat Bay sits on Nusa Penida, the island southeast of Bali across the Badung Strait, and is typically reached by boat from Toyapakeh or nearby harbors. It's a reef site with a maximum depth of around 30 metres and good visibility, rated as a beginner dive despite the strong currents that can run through the bay. Mola mola, or ocean sunfish, are a draw here along with nudibranchs on the reef, and divers have also reported frogfish, lionfish, manta rays, mantis shrimp, sea turtles, trevally, and tuna passing through. Thermoclines have also been noted at the site, so conditions can shift noticeably with depth even though it's suited to less experienced divers.
