Gokane Point lies along the coast of County Cork, in Ireland's southwestern province of Munster, near the mouth of the harbour approaches that mark this stretch of the Atlantic coastline. The area is characterised by rocky headlands typical of west Cork, with access generally arranged through local dive operators based in the nearby coastal towns. Divers here have also reported common dragonet on the seabed around the point.
