About this site
Gordons Mooring lies off the coast of far north Queensland, in the waters near Cairns that give access to sections of the Great Barrier Reef. The coordinates place it on the reef system offshore from the mainland, in an area reached by boat from the Cairns region. It is a shallow site with a maximum depth of around 10 metres, rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported nudibranchs here, and lost fishing tackle has been noted as a hazard to watch for on the reef.
