About this site
Gorilla Chop lies along the Okinawa coastline of Japan, part of the Ryukyu Islands chain south of Kyushu, with the coast here dropping into the surrounding Pacific and East China Sea waters. It is a beginner dive site reaching a maximum depth of around 12 metres, making it an easy, shallow option for divers on the island. Divers have reported angelfish, clownfish, octopus, and seahorses around the site. Sites in this area are typically reached by boat from operators based on the main island.
