Heron Bommie sits within the lagoon and reef complex around Heron Island, on the southern Great Barrier Reef off the Queensland coast. Bommies in this area are isolated coral pinnacles rising from the surrounding sand and reef flat, typically reached by a short boat trip from the island's dive operation. Divers here have also reported fusiliers moving around the pinnacle.
