About this site
HMS Lawford was a British anti-aircraft escort ship that served as a headquarters vessel supporting the D-Day landings off the Normandy coast in June 1944. She was sunk by German aircraft attack while operating in the invasion anchorage off Calvados. The wreck lies in the eastern Baie de Seine area, one of several World War II casualties scattered along this stretch of coast that are dived out of nearby Normandy harbours.
