House Reef

The House Reef at Wakatobi Dive Resort sits directly off the resort's own stretch of coast on Tolandona Island, in the Wakatobi Regency of Southeast Sulawesi, with the reef wall dropping close to shore and reachable on foot from the beach or jetty rather than by boat. It reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres over a reef bottom and is rated technical, though current is generally light, with divers occasionally reporting changing or strong currents along parts of the reef. Stonefish are present, and divers have also reported bumphead parrotfish, clownfish, frogfish, fusiliers, ghost pipefish, leaf scorpionfish, mandarinfish, mola mola, nudibranchs, octopus, pufferfish, snapper, sweetlips, trevally, and triggerfish here. Wakatobi sits within the Coral Triangle, and the House Reef is treated by the resort as one of the region's signature shore dives, with access possible at almost any hour of the day.
