Htms Sattakut

HTMS Sattakut is a former US Navy LSM-1 class landing ship transferred to the Royal Thai Navy and deliberately sunk off Koh Tao in 2011 to create an artificial reef near Hin Pee Wee. It sits upright on a sandy bottom, roughly 48 metres long, with the deck around 20 metres and the seabed closer to the maximum recorded depth of 30.2 metres. The site is rated an intermediate dive, with light current and good visibility typically reported, though divers penetrating the wheelhouse and lower compartments should watch for sharp edges, entanglement, and pockets of limited visibility inside the hull. Barracuda, batfish, fusilier, grouper, lionfish, scorpionfish, and snapper are regularly seen around the wreck, with scorpionfish often tucked near doors and portholes. Divers have also reported moray eels, sea turtles, sweetlips, trevally, reef sharks, glassfish, wrasse, and even the occasional whale shark passing the site.
