About this site
White Rock, known locally as Hin Khao, sits off the coast of Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand, part of Surat Thani province in southern Thailand. It is made up of a series of granite boulders breaking the surface with rocky reef spreading out below, reaching a maximum depth of around 22 metres. It's rated an intermediate dive, with light current and generally good visibility over the reef bottom. The reef holds angelfish, bannerfish, barracuda, clownfish, grouper, moray eels, nudibranchs, octopus, parrotfish, pufferfish, trevally, and triggerfish, and divers have also reported batfish, butterflyfish, frogfish, fusiliers, garden eels, lionfish, mantis shrimp, scorpionfish, sea turtles, stingrays, whale sharks, and wrasse here. Sea urchins and sharp corals have been noted as hazards worth watching for around the boulders.
