About this site
Iron Bound is a reef dive site whose top sits at 3–4.5 metres (10–15 ft), with a wall that drops down to around 15 metres (50 ft) before giving way to a large sandy area broken up by coral formations. Towards the east, there is an interesting swim-through at roughly 12 metres (40 ft).
The reef holds Southern Stingrays, Snapper, Grouper, Green Moray eels, and the occasional Eagle Ray. Schools of juvenile fish are commonly found in the shallower areas on top of the reef.
With a maximum depth of 15 metres (50 ft) and a shallow reef crest starting at 3 metres (10 ft), Iron Bound is well suited to beginner divers.
