About this site
Isla Frijoles sits within the Coiba National Park area off Panama's Pacific coast, near the larger Coiba Island in the Gulf of Chiriqui. This part of Veraguas province is known for its protected marine waters and volcanic island terrain, with dive operations typically running out of boats based near Coiba or the mainland town of Santa Catalina. The reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 25 metres and is rated an advanced dive. Divers have also reported barracuda and sea turtles around the site.
