About this site
The Isthmus refers to the narrow stretch of Santa Catalina Island near Two Harbors, where the island pinches down between the main harbor and Catalina Harbor on the west side. Diving in this area is typically done from small boats operating out of Two Harbors, along the rocky coastline and kelp beds that line both sides of the isthmus. Depths at the site reach down to around 33.5 metres, giving divers a range of options from shallower kelp forest to deeper rock structure along the same stretch of coast.
