Itsandra Bay sits on the western coast of Grande Comore, the main island of the Comoros archipelago in the western Indian Ocean, near the historic Itsandra sultanate site north of Moroni. The bay opens onto volcanic coastline typical of this side of the island, with reef and rocky shore formations shaped by the slopes of Mount Karthala further inland.
