Jackson's Bar

Jackson's Bar lies off Henry Lawrence Island in the Ritchie's Archipelago, part of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands off India's east coast, typically dived from Havelock Island. The site sits over a rock bottom and reaches a maximum depth of around 35 metres, rated an intermediate dive due to strong currents that sweep the bar. Those currents draw in pelagics, and divers regularly encounter barracuda, eagle rays, fusiliers, grouper, manta rays, snapper, sweetlips, and tuna. Reef sharks, stingrays, trevally, and wrasse have also been reported here. As with much of the archipelago, the site is reached by boat from the main tourist hubs nearby.
