Josie J Wreck

The Josie J Wreck lies off Roatan, the largest of Honduras's Bay Islands, in the Caribbean Sea along the island's barrier reef coast, reached by boat from towns such as West End and West Bay. It rests on a wreck bottom at a maximum depth of around 62 metres, rating it a technical dive well beyond recreational limits, with the depth itself and the nature of a deep wreck noted as hazards here. The coastline off Roatan drops off quickly into open water, and the Josie J sits well down that slope, out of reach of casual recreational diving. Divers on the wreck have reported reef fish typical of the island's walls, including queen angelfish, stoplight and striped parrotfish, four-eyed butterflyfish, bluehead wrasse, blue chromis, squirrelfish, sergeant majors, and yellowtail damselfish, along with occasional hammerhead shark sightings in the surrounding water.
