About this site
Jules Undersea Lodge sits in Emerald Lagoon, a mangrove-lined lagoon in Key Largo, Florida, part of the Florida Keys. The site is a former research habitat converted into an underwater lodge, resting at a max depth of around 5.5 metres in calm, enclosed water rather than open reef or ocean. Diving here is rated beginner level, and it is used both for novelty overnight stays and for confined-water training dives in the sheltered lagoon. Visibility is limited compared to offshore Keys sites since it is a lagoon rather than a coral environment. It is not known for marine life encounters but rather for the experience of entering a habitat structure underwater.
