About this site
Kapalua Beach sits on the northwest coast of Maui, in the Kapalua resort area near the town of Lahaina in Maui County, Hawaii. The crescent-shaped bay is bordered by two rocky points that shelter it from open ocean swell, making it a shore dive suited to beginners with a max depth of around 7.6 metres. Divers have reported bannerfish, parrotfish, pufferfish, triggerfish, and wrasse around the bay. The shallow lava rock plateau can bring sharp coral underfoot, and winter months can bring waves that add some challenge to entry and exit.
