Keem Bay sits at the western end of Achill Island in County Mayo, a horseshoe-shaped cove flanked by steep cliffs and Croaghaun mountain. It faces out into the Atlantic off Ireland's west coast, reached by a narrow road that winds down from the higher ground above the bay.
