About this site
This dive site off Achill Island offers dramatic underwater cliffs and boulder fields in the Atlantic. Strong currents bring nutrient-rich waters, attracting large schools of pollock and wrasse. The rocky terrain creates swim-throughs and overhangs teeming with colorful anemones and crustaceans. Visibility varies with tides, often reaching 10 meters on calm days. Experienced divers will enjoy exploring the steep drop-offs where seals sometimes play. Cold water diving year-round requires proper thermal protection. The rugged coastline above water mirrors the striking underwater topography.
