Kehedaeng lies within the Derawan Islands archipelago off the northeast coast of Kalimantan, near Kakaban, in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. This part of the Celebes Sea is known for its scattered reef and island system, reached by boat from the small port towns of the Derawan area. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres.
