About this site
The Keystorm lies in the Saint Lawrence River near Alexandria Bay, in the Thousand Islands region of New York on the US side of the New York-Ontario border. It was a Canadian steamer that struck Scow Island Shoal in 1912 and sank, and it now rests on its side in the river, a popular technical and recreational wreck dive in the area. The wreck bottoms out around 36 metres, and the current and cold, dark freshwater conditions of the Saint Lawrence make it an advanced dive. The hull is largely intact and penetrable in places, drawing divers who come to the Thousand Islands specifically for its collection of shipwrecks.
