Kimbe Bommie

Kimbe Bommie is a well known seamount dive within Kimbe Bay off the north coast of New Britain, Papua New Guinea, an area recognised for exceptionally rich reef biodiversity. The bommie rises from deeper water toward the surface and is dived in layers, with soft coral growth and schooling fish concentrated around the shallower pinnacle sections and gorgonians and sea fans further down. Divers commonly encounter schooling barracuda, batfish, and a wide range of reef fish, along with occasional pelagics passing the seamount. Depths reported at the site range roughly from the surface down past 30 metres depending on which part of the structure is worked. Because much of the marine life sits on the shallower plateau, it is accessible to a broad range of divers, though deeper sections and boat-based access via Kimbe Bay favor those with some open water experience.
