About this site
Koh Bida Nai is the inner of the two Bida limestone islets that rise just south of Koh Phi Phi Leh in the Andaman Sea. It is the gentler of the pair, a shallow reef and sloping wall that wraps the base of the rock, and its calm, easy profile makes it a favourite for new divers and relaxed second dives. The reef holds a lot of life for its size. Leopard sharks and blacktip reef sharks are seen on the sand and along the drop-off, hawksbill turtles graze the coral, and the nooks in the limestone shelter seahorses, ghost pipefish, moray eels and a good spread of nudibranchs for those diving slowly. Current is usually light and the shallow depth keeps dives long, so Koh Bida Nai is an accessible site for most levels, dived year round from Phi Phi and Phuket day boats and often paired with its sister rock Koh Bida Nok.
