Kuba Island lies off the Okinawan coast within the Kyushu region of Japan, reached by boat from the main island of Okinawa. The Isobana course name points to a shore-adjacent route running along the rocky coastline of Kuba, typical of the small satellite islands dived in this part of the Ryukyu chain. Divers have reported yellow finger coral along this stretch, adding to the rocky terrain the course is named for.
