Kukuljari lies in the waters off Murter island, part of the šibenik-knin region along Croatia's Dalmatian coast near the Kornati archipelago. This stretch of the Adriatic is known for its scattered islets and channels, with dive sites typically reached by short boat trips from Murter town. The reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 38 metres, though it is rated a beginner dive overall. Divers have also reported octopus among the reef's inhabitants.
