About this site

La Formiche di Lipari refers to a small group of rocky shoals off Lipari, the largest of the Aeolian Islands, in the Tyrrhenian Sea north of Sicily. The site sits in the waters of the Province of Messina, reached by boat from the harbours of Lipari town. Divers have also reported compass jellyfish, fried egg jellyfish, and mauve stinger jellyfish drifting through the water around the shoals.
